Be the Boom! My TEDx Talk

A few years ago, I was taking my son to school, and I asked him, "How's it going?" He said, "Oh, Dad, it's just another day." As I looked in his eyes, I could see the very life being sucked out of him because there was no anticipation or expectation.

That simple conversation lit a fire in me and sparked a journey towards releasing leadership brilliance in our education system.

After countless hours of research and studying high performance educators, I believe that hope paired with action can become the boom that breaks through the sound barrier of hopelessness in education.

My research partner, Dr. Marceta Reilly, and I were introduced to 22 breakthrough principals from all around the world who found a way to be the boom and break the sound barrier. They decided to become educational equalizers. They made up in their minds to put an end to educational apartheid once and for all.
